Next year i’m going to start the education “Communication & Multimedia Design”. My goal is to make a living out of designing and starting my own company here in the Netherlands. Currently there are no design studios in and surrouding the place where i live. So to achieve this all it would be nice to have some books to help me in my journey.
I would like any book related to designing, but if i really have to choose two they would be: “Fuel for Design” & “The Principles of Beautiful Web Design”
Thanks in advance

I would pick “The Principles Of Successful Freelancing” or “The Unlimited Freelancer: Unleash Your True Business Potential”. Currently stuck in my job, I want to spread my wings and fly, so I would gladly learn some tips and tricks from freelancer gurus. Idea and business model are there but it’s always good to have best practices and analysis from people who know what they are talking about!
In addition to that, if I win the ebook, duh! That would be the first time ever I win freebies. Let’s make it happen

Hi! I’d like “The Principles of Successful Freelancing” and “How to be a ROCKSTAR Wordpress Designer”.
I read the free sample of the principles of successful freelancing and I found it to be very interesting. As I’m beginning to freelance it would be of great help. I already own Collis Ta’eed book on freelancing and I’m putting his advice to work.
As for the ROCKSTAR Wordpress Designer book, the fact that Collis wrote it is a guarantee for it to be an excellent book!
Thanks!!

“How to start a clothing line” and “How to sell art online” would be perfect for me, because I realy want to make a living by designing, but i’m having difficulties finding a job… Therefor, I thought that starting on my own would be a good idea, but although I have the design related “know-how”, I lack when it comes to marketing. I’ve bought & read the “Rockstar Freelancer” book last summer and really enjoyed it. Even the layout and typography in the book made it a pleasure to read. So I would love to have a chance to read their new one “How to Be a Rockstar WordPress Designer”. Also, I love the Site Point books. Their written by some great authors who really know what they are talking about. It would be a tough choice to pick, but for my second choice I would have to go with “Build Your Own Database Driven Website Using PHP & MySQL”. The description of the book looks great on the site point webpage. Now why would I want these books? Well for a Multimedia Production student who off on an unpaid work placement right now… I could always use the leg-up, so to say, to assist in creating and learning from. This would benefit me to learn from and to make better products for clients at my placement.

And sometimes they want me to do a job that is difficult for me due to lack of knowledge. And I am also working free lance as a sideline for my savings, for my daughter’s education. I love learning, and designing is my passion…

This is a very sad moment for me, as I almost wanted to cry because I could only choose 2 out of the 7 books that I really need, if not maybe all of them that I would seriously like to have. Seriously 7, so I can improve my skills in photoshop, beautiful websites, php and mysql etc..I know there are tutorials online but some reason those ebook titles caught my attention.
I have been doing website design for some time now but frankly my planning is very poor, I have no structure at all which takes me a very long to do a website lol. I am very passionate about website design/development and see myself as a long term or life. I am trying to start a business(freelancer) in website design. At the moment, I’m going through a long process in trying to write up my content for my portfolio lol. If only I paid more attention in my English class, cause it’s hard enough for someone to hire me because my English is not meeting the requirements, so please learn and don’t make the same mistake as I did. Now, I started learning php and mysql. I put my whole heart into it which taken me months to even to do a basic dynamic web page. I love learning and will continue to get better and better.
Sorry for the long story. Ok, I’ve come to my conclusion and gave this a long thought on these 2 books which I believe will benefit me in the long run.
May I please have “The Principles Of Successful Freelancing” and “Deliver First Class Web Sites: 101 Essential Checklists”

Hi, I’m a graphic design student from Brazil. My graduation area is just beginning and is not yet fully established, so there are professors from other areas, such as engeneering (don’t ask me why) and architecture for example. They are ok, but not great, teaching us about a theory they never saw in practice leading us to pursue our own education, which is kinda good but not ideal since we should have design professors to help with atleast half of that. I really think that “Fuel for Art” and “Fuel for Design” would do wonders to jumpstart my designing ‘eye’. Thanks for reading.
Ps. I don’t think your site is stupid as the guy from PSTuts said, it’s cool man!

I’d like The Unlimited Freelancer: Unleash Your True Business Potential, and Rockstar Freelancer…
Why? I left my job a couple of months due to a family illness and I needed to stay home to watch my 4 children… I’m taking on the role as freelancer, and sending as many job requests as I can find with little to know luck… So I assume I’m doing somethings wrong and these e-books would probably help a lot. Thanks!

I would like Fuel For Art and The Photoshop Anthology: 101 Web Design Tips, Tricks & Techniques. I think the second e-book would help me better understand Photoshop. I’m in the process of refreshing my Illustrator and Photoshop skills and I could use all the help I can get.
As for Fuel For Art, I think it would make me a better artist. I don’t just want to create art, I would to sell my own. Thats what I want to do full time.

It would be wonderful to have “Principles of Beautiful Web Design” and “The Photoshop Anthology” as tools in my journey of self-taught web design. I am creating websites for 2 businesses that my husband and I are starting. In these times, money is constrained and I would not be able to afford resources such as these. Thank you for your consideration.

It would be great to have “Principles of Beautiful Web Design” and “The Photoshop Anthology”. I’ve spend almost the half of my life learning techniques en tricks to get things done and good in building a website. When I have those books I can actually do something with that knowledge.
